We need a senior international supply chain operator to help us design a scalable multi-origin operating model and a defensible global DDP program.
This is an execution-focused role. We are not looking for a general strategist.
Scope of Work
1. Multi-Origin Operating Model
Define clean EXW / FCA usage by region (or other appropriate incoterms models)
Structure export responsibility and freight forwarder strategy
Outline plan for China or other region-specific operations for in-land movement of goods
Define risk controls (tariffs, congestion, holidays)
2. Global DDP Framework
Architect DDP into US, EU, and Middle East
Define Importer of Record strategy
Outline VAT/duty handling (EU/UK)
Define when DDP vs DAP is appropriate
Identify operational risk points
3. Landed Cost & Pricing Structure
Build a structured landed cost model
Define freight volatility buffers
Establish margin protection rules
Create decision rules for quoting all-in vs separated freight
4. Freight & Partner Strategy
Forwarder selection model
Broker strategy by region
SLA/KPI framework
Claims and escalation process
Shape
Required Experience
10+ years international freight experience
Hands-on China export operations
Experience executing DDP programs
Familiarity with US customs and EU VAT imports
Experience structuring Importer of Record solutions
Background in freight forwarding or 3PL operations preferred
We need someone who has operated trade lanes — not just advised on them.
