Leonardo DRS Land Systems is a leader in integrating complex technologies for military and commercial clients. They are seeking a full-time Verification Engineering Technician II to support engineering duties, focusing on integration, testing, and demonstration of new products, while also managing tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Support engineering with moderately complex engineering duties and other hands-on tasks, particularly focusing on Internal Research and Development programs
- Provide technical support and troubleshoot issues during integration/test events
- Reviews project instructions and drawings to ascertain test specifications, procedures, objectives, test equipment, nature of technical problem and possible solutions, and to support the test design and setup
- Utilize hands-on skills to include use of various hardware and software-related tools to troubleshoot, resolve issues, load software, etc
- Effectively manage and conduct tests and be familiar with test range operations
- Work independently for several days
- Work confidently in shop and lab environments and maintains a working knowledge of the DRS product base
- Provides hands-on feedback to engineers
- Sets up and conducts tests of units and components
- Adapt to flexible test schedules and be prepared to adjust plans as necessary to meet project demands
- Represent DRS in a professional manner at all times, ensuring high standards of conduct and performance
- May coordinate maintenance projects
- Mentor and coach less experienced technicians
- Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values, and culture of the organization
Skills
- High School diploma or GED
- 1+ years of relevant experience
- Familiarization of blueprints and wiring schematics
- Must have strong mechanical skills
- Willing and able to travel 50-75% of the time
- U.S. Citizenship required
- This position requires an active DOD security clearance or the ability to obtain such clearance within a reasonable time after commencement of employment
- Soldering and wire bonding experience a plus
- Fundamental understanding of computer systems, operating systems, and configuration files, a plus
