Part-Time (Adjunct) Online Instructor in Early Childhood Trauma Course: EDU 650 Children and Families Experiencing Stress and Trauma 3.0 units Spring 2026 Semester: January through May 2026 Salary: $1,666 per unit Job Type: Adjunct Instructor, Part-Time Location: Online and Zoom Full job description American Jewish University and its Masor School for Jewish Education and Leadership are searching for an online adjunct instructor to teach EDU 650 Children and Families Experiencing Stress and Trauma in the Spring 2026 semester, which is from January through May 2026. This course is a graduate-level course requirement for the online Master of Arts in Education in Early Childhood Education program. The instructor is expected to conduct weekly virtual/live online classes, facilitate learning via active student responding, answer student questions regarding course content and processes, respond to discussion board posts, and remain current in trends regarding the field of early childhood education, childhood trauma as well as the content covered in the course. This is a part-time position, and the instructor will be responsible for holding classes on Zoom, on Monday evenings from 4:30-6:30 PM Pacific Daylight Time. Responsibilities Include: • Conduct all online class meetings as scheduled and ensure they start and end on time. • Use teaching techniques that maintain student engagement and encourage student discussion and collaboration. This may include providing explanations, examples, and tips with an emphasis on difficult or complex concepts. • Record online class meetings. • Maintain positive responses for student satisfaction. • Monitor student progress and stay in contact with students as needed. • Respond to student emails in a timely manner. • Participate in the discussion boards or write feedback privately to students at a minimum of once per week per course. • Attend a faculty meeting once per term (prior to the start of a semester) or review recording. • Provide accurate availability for scheduling purposes up to one semester ahead of the scheduled term. • Prepare and update course materials. Requirements Include: • M.A. in Social Work, Psychology or related Field. EdD or PhD preferred. Experience in early childhood a plus. • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience required in area of expertise. • Experience teaching in an online educational environment, experience with Canvas LMS a plus. • Communicate information effectively in a clear, courteous and timely manner to students and team members. • Teach effectively. • Facilitate student achievement of educational outcomes and maintain high student satisfaction scores. • Ability to take initiative and self-manage. • Proficiency with Word and PowerPoint. • Learn new technologies/programs quickly (e.g., LMS/Canvas) Other Requirements: • A wired, high-speed internet connection sufficient to effectively conduct online activities.
