About the Role The Hospital Services Technician is a critical component of our customer service team, responsible for traveling between customer healthcare facilities to provide on-site proactive collection and exchange of waste containers for various Stericycle programs. This service is provided at regularly scheduled intervals for assigned facilities, ensuring that our customers receive exceptional service and support. Key Responsibilities Travel between customer healthcare facilities to proactively monitor, collect, and exchange waste containers for various Stericycle programs and services, including Sharps Management Service, Pharmaceutical Waste, Controlled Substances, and Document Management. Interact professionally with onsite customer staff to ensure service expectations are met or exceeded, providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations. Maintain a rigid collection and service schedule, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. Communicate duty status on a defined schedule, ensuring seamless communication and coordination with the team. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced environment. The position requires extensive lifting, walking, bending, and pushing, with the ability to lift up to 55 pounds and push and/or pull carts weighing as much as 500 pounds. Essential Qualifications To be successful in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications: 2+ years of work experience or a High school diploma or equivalent, demonstrating a strong foundation in customer service, logistics, or a related field. Strong communication skills and tact in providing superior customer service in a variety of settings and situations. A valid driver's license and reliable transportation to travel between customer facilities, ensuring timely and efficient service delivery. The ability to work independently and with little supervision, demonstrating self-motivation and a strong work ethic. Knowledge of computer/handheld software applications, including spreadsheets and application-based programs to track daily KPIs. Preferred Qualifications While not mandatory, the following preferred qualifications will be considered an asset: Mandatory immunizations and credentialing based on customer requirements, demonstrating a commitment to safety and compliance. Previous experience in a related field, such as healthcare or logistics, providing a strong understanding of industry-specific regulations and best practices.
