Going Concern is an award-winning outsourced accounting, tax planning strategy, and growth advisory firm seeking a skilled Tax CPA to join their fully remote team. The role supports firm leaders, staff, and clients in driving business growth and maintaining an accurate, efficient back office. Responsibilities • Assist with new client onboarding and product adoption • Advise clients on data migration and accounting best practices • Communicate regularly with business owners and management to establish performance expectations • Assess internal control environments and implement process improvements • Prepare budgets by collecting, analyzing, and consolidating financial data; recommend plans and corrective actions • Forecast short-term cash needs and assist in managing costs and cash flow • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations • Maintain confidentiality of financial information and plans • Prepare special financial reports and summarize trends as needed • Support continuous professional development and maintain technical knowledge Skills • CPA license (non-negotiable) • 5+ years of U.S. tax compliance and planning experience • Experience with both large and small businesses and high-net-worth individuals, including multi-state filings • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance • QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor with strong integration experience • 2-5 years of experience with QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Desktop • Advanced Excel skills (DSUM, DCOUNT, Pivot Tables, Formulas, Functions, Macros) • Familiarity with accounting software such as TurboTax, Bill.com, Expensify, Webgility, Hubdoc, Xero, and NetSuite • Excellent communication and client management skills • Self-starter who thrives in a remote work environment Benefits • Fully remote, flexible work environment • Collaborative, growth-minded firm focused on leadership development • Technologically forward-thinking with emphasis on efficiency and innovation • Commitment to building a culture of accountability where CPAs and clients thrive together Company Overview • Going Concern is a leading accounting news publication providing an alternative take on breaking news and developing stories in accounting.
