What You’ll Do
As a Clinical Assessor, you will play a key role in creating an environment where patients and families feel supported, safe, and inspired to grow. You will:
- Demonstrates understanding of admission criteria for inpatient, partial hospitalization, intensive outpatient hospitalization, and outpatient levels of care.
- Identifies the need for additional screening for substance use, nutrition needs, functional needs, abuse, school, and developmental screening.
- Documents any special needs related to spiritual or cultural needs.
- States the working definition and procedure for managing medical and psychiatric emergencies according to company guidelines as well as company policies.
- Identifies and triages emergent patients and prioritizes care based on the same.
- Demonstrates a working knowledge of community mental health and substance use programs, to be offered for all patients who are assessed and referred to lower or higher levels of care.
- Provides case management services as deemed necessary for family and patient engagement.
- Evidence of understanding of all required documents for admission, and completion of such documents, before the facilitation of admission.
- Interacts professionally with patient/family and provides explanations and verbal reassurance as necessary.
- Demonstrates understanding of the utilization review process to include treatment criteria and precertification payor, to obtain initial authorization of care.
- Reports “near misses”, as well as errors and accidents, promptly.
- Attends all required safety programs and understands responsibilities related to general, department, and job-specific safety and follows all safety rules on the job.
- Participates in quality projects, as assigned, and supports quality initiatives.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Employee is expected to provide clients, and possible clients, accurate and truthful information regarding the Company and the services it provides. Employee will not make false representations about the costs of services, type of services, legal obligations, or make any guarantees. When an Employee is engaged in marketing and solicitation of clients Employee should remain in full compliance with federal and state laws that are enumerated herein. Employee will comply with TEX. HEALTH & SAFETY CODE ANN. ch. 164 (Vernon 2001 & Supp. 2003)
What We’re Looking For
- Master’s Degree in Counseling, Social Work, or a related behavioral health field.
- LMSW, LCSW, LPC-A, or LPC (Texas)
- A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a mental health intake setting is preferred
- Are passionate about serving youth and families with integrity and compassion
