Trinnex is a visionary company transforming water resource management through digital technologies. They are seeking an entry-level Accountant to support financial analysis and rate studies for municipal utilities, working under the supervision of senior analysts and project managers.
Responsibilities
- Support water, wastewater, and stormwater rate studies, bond feasibility studies, financial strategic planning and related including revenue requirement analyses, cost allocation, and rate design
- Compile, organize, and analyze utility financial data, including operating budgets, capital improvement plans, debt schedules, and historical financial statements
- Assist in developing and maintaining financial models (primarily Excel‑based) to evaluate rate impacts, affordability metrics, and long‑term financial sustainability
- Perform data validation and QA/QC on financial inputs, assumptions, and outputs
- Prepare tables, figures, and draft narrative sections for technical memoranda, reports, and presentations
- Assist with benchmarking and comparative analyses across utilities and regions
- Coordinate with project team members to track data requests and support client communications
- Maintain organized electronic project files in accordance with internal QA/QC procedures
- Perform other analytical and administrative tasks as assigned in support of project delivery
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree

- Strong quantitative, organizational and analytical skills
- Familiarity with basic accounting principles (e.g., fund accounting, depreciation, debt service)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel (formulas, logical functions, data organization; exposure to pivot tables and basic financial modeling preferred)
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to identify problems and potential solutions proactively
- Interest in public‑sector finance, utilities, infrastructure, or municipal services
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a closely related field
- Internship, coursework, or project experience related to: Public finance, utility finance, or governmental accounting; Cost‑of‑service studies or rate analysis; Budgeting, forecasting, or financial planning
- Exposure to data visualization or financial analysis tools beyond Excel (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, R, Python) is a plus but not required
