This position is an integral part of the Payments and Digital Strategy team at blithequark Credit Union. As a Member Services Representative, you will be responsible for daily functions related to check processing, item processing, direct bills, and fund transfers at blithequark Credit Union. Key Responsibilities
- Complete data entry and balancing functions with precision and accuracy.
- Coordinate return items with members, vendors, the Federal Reserve Bank, and other institutions efficiently.
- Assist other departments with fraud resolution, member inquiries, and related Accounting standard ledger balancing.
- Work on member cases/issues assigned, ensuring timely and effective resolutions.
- Follow and maintain guidelines and procedures to ensure strict compliance with NACHA regulations and guidelines, as well as Federal Banking laws.
- Process loan payments, multi-account and member deposits, credit card payments, and other checks, including IRA, bankruptcy, and payoff checks.
- Review, examine, and approve Remote Deposit, Mobile, ATM, and other imaged-enabled products.
- Log, report, and make necessary GL, account changes, and/or returns.
- Process Stop Pays and Check Batching accurately and efficiently.
- Complete daily balancing and department closing tasks with attention to detail.
- Obtain information from members for the timely and correct processing of international and domestic fund transfer requests.
- Research and confirm incoming and outgoing fund transfer information.
- Communicate with vendors to process fund transfers smoothly.
- Understand and be familiar with outgoing and incoming fund transfer laws and regulations.
- Deposit check returns, research member bad checks on draft changes, process member checks, confirm members for outgoing fund transfers, and Federal Reserve verifying and releasing fund transfers.
- Complete daily processing of workflows associated with late returns, supply of receipts, foreign collections, and legal fees.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or GED, with intermediate Excel and Word skills.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous customer/member service experience, previous banking or Credit Union experience, and familiarity with Episys/Symitar and processing wires.
Skills and Competencies
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Skilled in Microsoft Office software (e.g., Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) through work experience or training and hands-on use.
- Ability to work extended hours in support of business needs.
