Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced and skilled Data Engineer - Data Analytics to join our team at arenaflex. As a Data Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, developing, and operationalizing data pipelines to make data available for consumption, driving business insights and informed decision-making. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including data architects, data scientists, and BI architects, to design and maintain scalable data models and pipelines that meet the evolving needs of our organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop data pipelines to ingest, transform, and load data from various sources, ensuring data quality, integrity, and reliability
- Collaborate with data architects to align on data engineering requirements and ensure seamless integration with existing data infrastructure
- Develop and maintain optimal data pipeline architecture, identifying opportunities for process improvements and automation
- Implement big data and NoSQL solutions, creating scalable data processing platforms to drive high-value insights for the organization
- Support the development of data dictionaries and data taxonomy for product offerings, ensuring data consistency and standardization
- Demonstrate strong understanding of coding and programming concepts to build data pipelines, including data transformation, data quality, and data integration
- Work with data modelers to design and develop data pipelines, storing data in defined data models and structures
- Show strong understanding of data integration methods and tools, including Extract, Transform, Load (ETL)/Extract, Load, Transform (ELT) and database design
- Identify ways to improve data reliability, efficiency, and quality of data management, ensuring data integrity and compliance
- Lead ad-hoc data retrieval for business reports and dashboards, reviewing data integrity from various sources
- Manage database design, including installing and upgrading software, and maintaining relevant documentation
- Monitor database activity and resource utilization, performing peer reviews for other data engineers' work
Essential Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience designing and operationalizing data pipelines with large and complex datasets
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with Informatica PowerCenter and Informatica IICS
- 3+ years of experience in data modeling, ETL, and data warehousing
- 3+ years of experience working with cloud technologies, such as ADLS, Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, and other big data technologies
- Broad experience working with various data sources, including SQL, Oracle database, flat files (csv, delimited), web API, and XML
- Advanced SQL skills, with strong understanding of relational databases and business data; ability to write complex SQL queries against multiple data sources
- Strong understanding of database storage concepts, including data lake, relational databases, NoSQL, Graph, and data warehousing
- Able to work in a high-speed agile development environment, with flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines
Preferred Qualifications
- BA/BS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent programming/services experience
- Azure Certifications
- Experience implementing data integration strategies, such as event/message-based integration (Kafka, Azure Event Hub), ETL
- Experience with Git/Azure DevOps
- Experience delivering data solutions through agile software development methodologies
- Familiarity with the retail industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience working with SAP integration tools, including Bodies
- Experience with UC4 Job Scheduler
