Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Data Scientist to join our team on a part-time basis, working remotely to develop and implement AI and machine learning solutions that predict, analyze, and resolve complex issues before they impact our operations. Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement AI and machine learning solutions using a range of technologies, including deep learning and statistical analysis
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and develop models that predict and analyze data on equipment and software systems to prevent outages and pinpoint errors
- Design, code, test, debug, and document AI and machine learning models, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet business needs
- Support the implementation of systems into production, including integration of purchased solutions and ensuring seamless execution
- Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders, providing insights and recommendations to drive business decisions
Required Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field, such as Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
- 2+ years of experience in AI and machine learning, with a strong background in data-driven statistical modeling, discriminative techniques, feature extraction and analysis, and supervised learning
- 2+ years of experience in a programming language, such as Python, R, SQL, or similar
- 2+ years of experience in data extraction, wrangling, visualization, and analysis, with a strong understanding of data structures and algorithms
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Experience handling data from multiple sources and through large data platforms, such as GCP, AWS, or similar
- Experience developing scalable AI models and solutions, with a strong understanding of model deployment and maintenance
- Experience investigating and implementing statistical models, machine learning algorithms, or customized solutions that demonstrate significant impact in solving complex business problems
- Experience optimizing existing data pipelines by investigating unstructured data sources and designing new features
- A graduate degree or higher in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent working experience
- Knowledge of AI, data mining, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related field, with a strong understanding of machine learning algorithms and techniques
