Job Summary
As a Walgreens Pharmacy Technician or Pharmacy Technician Apprentice, you will be at the forefront of our patient-centric approach, interacting with customers and developing strong patient relationships. Key Responsibilities
- Assist pharmacists in the practice of pharmacy, under direct supervision, in accordance with state and federal regulations.
- Use pharmacy systems to retrieve patient and drug information and process prescriptions.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with customers and patients, and resolving issues to ensure a positive experience.
- Develop strong relationships with valuable customers and model excellent customer service practices.
- Perform duties as assigned by the Pharmacy manager, personnel Pharmacist, and store supervisor, including using pharmacy systems to enter patient and drug records.
- Assist pharmacists in scheduling and maintaining workflow, and report prescription errors to the pharmacist on duty.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures, including those related to pharmacy errors and quality improvement programs.
- Register all related sales on assigned cash register, collect and handle coins as required, and take customers to the OTC aisle to assist in finding products.
- Handle telephone calls that do not require the personal attention of the pharmacist.
- Assist with stock management activities, including ordering, unpacking, checking, and storing shipments of prescription drugs.
- May assist pharmacists in administering medical services, including collecting and labeling blood/urine samples.
Education and Personal Development

- 8 university credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education (ACE) upon completion of our pharmacy technician apprenticeship program.
Basic Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (except in Puerto Rico).
Preferred Qualifications
- 6 months of experience in a retail environment.
- Previous work experience with Walgreens.
- Desirable math skills, including counting, measuring, and weighing medications.
- Accurate computer skills.
- Knowledge of store inventory management.
- P.C. certification.
