- Assigning, scheduling, and reviewing the work of lower-level staff members
- Providing courteous and professional service to program participants, facility users, City staff, and the public
- Maintaining accurate records and performing various maintenance duties to ensure a clean and safe facility
- Using computer software for data entry, roster printing, and registration processing
- Operating copiers, fax machines, and other program-specific equipment
- Assisting with ordering, maintaining, and taking inventory of program supplies
- Preparing incident and accident reports and maintaining program records
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you must possess the following essential qualifications:
- Education equivalent to a high school diploma
- A minimum of one full season (240 hours) of experience performing duties equivalent to a Senior Lifeguard with the City of Fairfield
- Possession of a valid California Driver's License
- Possession of American Red Cross (ARC) Lifeguard Training with Administering Emergency Oxygen Certifications
- Ability to pass a pre-employment physical skills evaluation and teaching skills evaluation
- Possession of an ARC Water Safety Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months of appointment)
- Possession of an ARC Lifeguard Instructor Certification (or ability to obtain within 12 months of appointment)
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following preferred qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous experience working in an aquatics environment, preferably in a supervisory or leadership role
- Knowledge of recreation and lifesaving tools and equipment
- Experience with modern office equipment, including computers and software applications
- Ability to communicate effectively with people of diverse ages, cultures, and backgrounds
- Strong leadership and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
