About the Role
As a Prolastin Pharmacy Technician, you'll play a vital role in assisting patients with rare and/or chronic diseases receive the medications they need. You'll work closely with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and multiple departments to process orders and ensure timely shipment of medications. This role requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple tasks while maintaining accuracy and quality.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately enter prescriptions into our computer system, ensuring that medication prescriptions are correctly entered for evaluation under insurance coverage and dispensing.
- Interact directly with healthcare providers, researching issues with pharmacists and doctors' offices, and providing guidance to patients about medication coverage.
- Handle multiple requests simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail and documenting information in our computer system.
- Utilize problem-solving skills and support from your team to resolve issues and ensure seamless processing of orders.
- Collaborate with multiple departments to ensure timely shipment of medications and resolve any issues that may arise.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or GED.
- A minimum of six months of related experience in a pharmacy setting.
- A valid Tennessee Pharmacy Technician license.
- Pharmacy Technician Certification.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry skills.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, and multiplication.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and quality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous experience working with Prolastin or similar medications.
- Familiarity with pharmacy software and systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
