- Generate labels and promotional displays, manage inventory, label and present merchandise, and maintain a high level of visual merchandising standards
- Follow the fundamental principles that define the company's ethos, and exhibit and guarantee adherence to organizational safety procedures
- Provide additional support in various store departments as required, and excel in a fast-moving setting while maintaining precision and attention to detail
Essential Qualifications
To be successful as a Retail Sales Specialist at Floor & Decor, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Have a strong foundation in basic mathematical concepts, and be able to apply mathematical skills in a retail environment
- Have previous experience in serving customers, and be able to provide exceptional customer service skills
- Be capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously, and excelling under stressful situations
- Be able to lift, carry, push, pull or move objects weighing up to 60 pounds occasionally, or 20-30 pounds frequently
- Be able to regularly utilize hands and fingers to touch or manipulate items, and consistently engage in activities that involve extended periods of standing, walking, using hand and arm movements for reaching, climbing, and balancing
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following preferred qualifications will be highly regarded:
- Forklift certification via F&D, or the ability to obtain certification
- Heavy equipment certification, or the ability to obtain certification
- Previous experience working in a retail environment, and a strong understanding of retail operations and sales principles
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, and the ability to think critically and make sound decisions
