Key Responsibilities
- Financial Record Preparation and Analysis: Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Monthly Reporting and Business Operations: Develop and analyze monthly reporting for business operations, providing insights and recommendations to clients.
- Audits and Compliance: Perform audits to ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) requirements and identify areas for improvement.
- Client Accounting Schedules: Set-up and maintain client accounting schedules, ensuring seamless financial management.
- Journal Entries and Bookkeeping: Calculate adjusting journal entries, complete bookkeeping tasks as needed, and assign and monitor bookkeeping tasks to ensure efficient workflow.
- Project Management: Maintain project management software to track progress, deadlines, and client interactions.
- Tax Return Filing: Occasionally file tax returns, such as sales tax returns, payroll returns, and 1099 reporting.
Essential Qualifications
- Accounting Experience: Minimum four years of verified accounting experience, preferably in a bookkeeping or accounting firm.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
- GAAP Knowledge: Fundamental knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Technical Skills: Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools, such as QuickBooks, Xero, or similar software.
- Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data and make informed decisions.
- Time Management and Organization: Strong time-management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and maintain organized records.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced Accounting Certifications: Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification.
