Job Overview
We're seeking a highly motivated and results-driven Senior Data Science Analyst to join our Search and Recommendations Analysis team. As a key member of our team, you'll work closely with cross-functional partners, including engineers, AI engineers/data scientists, and product managers, to drive business growth and improvement. Your primary focus will be on analyzing large datasets to inform our product recommendations, designing and executing A/B tests, and developing new testing and analysis techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Run exploratory data analysis to identify novel ideas and opportunities
- Design and execute A/B tests of new recommendation algorithms and procedures
- Proactively monitor our recommendation models to identify potential issues, determine underlying drivers, and resolve
- Build new tools that enable us to be more efficient and effective
- Collaborate closely with our product, engineering, and AI partners to drive business outcomes
- Communicate key insights and recommendations to cross-functional executive leaders across the organization
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- 2+ years of professional experience in a quantitative role (in addition to any graduate education)
- Analysis or Data Science experience with e-commerce companies is a strong plus
- In-depth experience with SQL (full capabilities, query optimization, stored procedures, string parsing, Vertica/Hive/Voila/Flash, etc.), required
- In-depth experience with Python and Python tools (Jupyter notebooks, functions, pandas, sklearn, matplotlib, etc.), required
- Experience with experimental design (A/B tests) and statistical analysis to drive business decisions, highly preferred
- Knowledge and experience using machine learning algorithms/techniques (decision trees, random forest, deep learning, etc.) within a business setting, highly preferred
