We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer / DevOps Consultant to help us review and strengthen our existing AWS infrastructure across multiple projects.
This role is focused on cloud infrastructure assessment, security & network hardening, and best-practice recommendations. Our platforms are already live - we are not looking to rebuild everything, but to improve reliability, security, and operational maturity.
This can start as a short-term engagement with the possibility of ongoing DevOps support based on outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Manage and optimize AWS infrastructure for multiple projects, ensuring reliability, scalability, and cost-efficiency.
Manage AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, ALB, Lambda, and Route 53.
Assess VPC design, subnets, routing, and public/private exposure
Review Security Groups, NACLs, IAM roles, and access policies
Identify security gaps and recommend hardening measures
Review RDS and database access patterns
Suggest improvements for scalability, availability, and fault tolerance
Review logging, monitoring, and alerting setup
Align recommendations with AWS Well-Architected Framework
Provide clear, prioritized actionable recommendations
Collaborate with development teams to address infrastructure and deployment needs.
Requirements:
Proven experience as an AWS Cloud Engineer / DevOps Specialist
Strong understanding of AWS networking and security
Experience securing production AWS environments
Hands-on experience with IAM, VPC, SGs, NACLs, RDS security
Ability to explain findings and recommendations clearly
Strong troubleshooting and architectural thinking skills
Preferred Qualifications:
AWS certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or SysOps Administrator.
Experience with SaaS and/or startup environments.
Experience with WAF, Shield, Bastion access patterns
Familiarity with monitoring tools like CloudWatch, Grafana, or Datadog.
