As a Principal Digital Transformation Strategist within WGA Advisors’ Pharmaceutical and MedTech industry practice, you will play a pivotal role in orchestrating and executing innovative digital transformation strategies, profoundly impacting the success and prosperity of WGA’s clients. In this multifaceted and client-focused position, you will be entrusted with leveraging your extensive experience in shaping and implementing transformative strategies across various functions, including Sales and Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Quality Assurance, and Logistics.
Responsibilities:
1. Digital Transformation Strategy Design and Execution: Create and execute comprehensive, industry-leading digital transformation strategies, precisely tailored to address the unique demands and opportunities within the Pharmaceutical and MedTech sector. Craft and oversee the digital transformation roadmap, ensuring it aligns with the WGA client’s overarching strategic vision.
2. Functional Expertise: Demonstrate profound mastery in designing and implementing highly customized digital solutions for Sales and Marketing, R&D, Supply Chain, Operations, Human Resources, IT, Legal, Quality Assurance, and Logistics. Develop actionable, business-oriented recommendations for each function.
3. Integration Excellence: Ensure the seamless integration of digital transformation solutions into enterprise systems, with a particular focus on complex ecosystems like SAP S/4HANA. Maximize operational efficiency, data integrity, and cross-functional alignment.
4. Client Engagement and Relationship Management: Collaborate closely with the WGA client to gain a deep understanding of their specific objectives, constraints, and challenges. Build trust and confidence while providing strategic guidance and recommendations that align with the client’s long-term vision.
5. Leadership and Team Mentorship: Take the lead in managing and mentoring project teams, fostering a collaborative, high-performance work environment. Ensure the successful delivery of projects, meeting or exceeding client expectations.
6. Thought Leadership and Industry Expertise: Maintain an exceptional knowledge of industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging technologies. Provide the WGA client with thought leadership and strategic insights that facilitate their digital transformation journey. Stay abreast of emerging digital trends and technologies, integrating them into the WGA client’s modus operandi.
7. Operations and Supply Chain Transformation: Drive the digital transformation of assigned Operations and Supply Chain topics within the Operations, Commercial & International team. Shape and lead a portfolio of projects and change initiatives to enhance the WGA client’s operations, logistics, and international supply chain network.
8. Risk Mitigation: Identify, assess, and proactively mitigate potential risks associated with digital transformation initiatives. Safeguard project success through prudent risk management practices.
9. Quality Assurance and Best Practices: Oversee and enforce the highest standards of deliverable quality and compliance with industry best practices. Foster a culture of excellence within the team.
10. Business Partnership and Transformation Prioritization: Forge strong business partnerships with Logistics, Operational, and International functions. Understand the business goals and ensure that the digital transformation aspects of their strategy are driven forward.
11. Portfolio Development: Working in partnership with assigned business leaders, develop and manage a prioritized portfolio of transformation initiatives, encompassing strategic, compliance, and continuous improvement (CI/BAU) projects.
12. Third-Party Management: Select and manage third-party partners to provide advice and assess their digital offerings on relevant solutions, ensuring alignment with the overall digital transformation strategy.
13. Business Stakeholder Engagement: Engage with business stakeholders to capture requirements for digitization, ensuring their needs and aspirations are effectively integrated into the digital strategy.
14. Business Strategy Alignment: Interact with business strategy stakeholders to align and cascade business objectives, imperatives, and KPIs into their digital counterparts.
15. Digital Strategy Development: Develop a digital strategy business case and ROI, ensuring a clear and compelling justification for the digital transformation initiatives.
16. Operating Model Design: Design the digital strategy management function operating model and reporting structure, establishing clear accountability and governance.
17. Design Thinking Workshops: Lead digital strategy design thinking workshops with various stakeholders, fostering collaboration and innovative thinking.
18. Benchmarking and Learning: Lead benchmarking activities to distill lessons learned and takeaways based on the industry and the client’s specific situation.
19. Alignment with National Priorities: Ensure alignment with national digitization priorities and principles, keeping the strategy in sync with broader industry and regulatory trends.
20. Digital Initiatives Definition: Define digital strategy initiatives and programs that will realize the digital strategic objectives, linking strategy to actionable projects.
21. Stakeholder Buy-In: Lead the socialization of the digital strategy for business and technical stakeholders to secure their buy-in and commitment to the transformation journey.
22. Change Management: Design a digital change management strategy to ensure the adoption of the digital strategy and successful benefits realization.
23. Trusted Advisory Role: Act as a trusted advisor for the client in all aspects related to digital strategic planning, providing expert guidance and insights.
24. Executive Relationship Building: Develop strong working relationships with the client’s executive management, fostering collaboration and understanding.
Qualifications:
– Master’s degree in a relevant field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
– A minimum of 15 years of progressive experience in management consulting, with a specific focus on digital transformation in the Pharmaceutical and MedTech industry the past 7 years.
– A proven track record in designing, implementing, and measuring the success of digital transformation strategies across multiple functional areas.
– Expertise in the seamless integration of digital solutions into enterprise systems, such as SAP S/4HANA.
– Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to dissect complex issues and craft innovative solutions.

COMPENSATION
Base Salary: $280,200-$312,000/year (DOE)
