Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, including GAAP, and will be responsible for managing financial records, preparing reports, and ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a solid grasp of financial concepts to support our organization’s financial health.
Responsibilities
• Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
• Conduct thorough account reconciliations, including balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger reconciliation.
• Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring timely payments and collections.
• Perform journal entries, double entry bookkeeping, and maintain meticulous records of all financial transactions.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and cash flow analysis to support strategic planning.
• Conduct financial analysis to interpret data and provide insights for decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with SOX regulations, tax laws, and other relevant legal requirements.
• Collaborate with internal teams on financial report writing and regulatory reporting.
• Mentor junior staff in accounting practices and assist in their professional development.
• Support auditing processes by providing necessary documentation and explanations as required.
Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is preferred; relevant certifications (e.g., CPA) are a plus.
• Proven experience in corporate accounting, public accounting, or non-profit accounting is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) regulations is an advantage.
• Proficiency in accounting software such as Sage or Xero; experience with financial software tools is essential.
• Strong knowledge of financial management principles including budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data effectively.
