As a Patient Financial Services Specialist I, you'll play a vital role in our call center, providing outstanding service to patients and resolving billing inquiries and disputes with professionalism and empathy.
Job Summary:
We're seeking a highly skilled and experienced Patient Financial Services Specialist to join our team. As a call center patient representative, you'll utilize your expertise in physician-based billing and medical insurance to deliver top-notch customer service, effectively resolving billing questions and collecting outstanding patient balances. Your excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, will enable you to diffuse difficult situations and ensure patient satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities:
- Research and resolve billing disputes
- Demonstrate knowledge of insurance processing guidelines and explain EOBs and patient balances to patients
- Initiate corrections on accounts and escalate trends to management
- Make outbound calls to guarantors to initiate collections and receive calls from patients/guarantors
- Collect outstanding patient balances, meet monthly quotas, and explain balances to patients
- Initiate payment plans and collect outstanding balances

Requirements:
- High school graduate or GED equivalent
- Minimum 1 year of experience in medical collections and insurance
- Strong customer service skills and excellent telephone etiquette
- Computer literate with typing skills and common knowledge of collection laws
- Self-starter with ability to work independently in a remote setting
Work Style/Location:
- Remote/work-at-home office with occasional onsite support required
- Minimum internet hardwired internet speed of 10m x 1m (satellite, wireless, and hot spot services are prohibited)
- Dedicated secure home workspace for interview and work purposes
