The Senior Coding Educator is responsible for reviewing and analyzing internal data and medical records, as well as coordinating educational sessions with providers to enhance quality of care, documentation, and coding practices across multiple assigned provider groups. This role contributes to departmental strategy and process improvements, makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues related to project components with minimal supervision, and demonstrates significant autonomy in setting objectives and determining approaches to assignments while collaborating with various departments within the organization.
Must hold AAPC CPC (Certified Professional Coder) certification
2 years or more experience with ICD-10 CM guidelines
Strong knowledge of medical record review
Understanding of billing, claims submission, and related processes
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Excellent interpersonal, public speaking, and presentation abilities
Experience guiding business leaders and teams in process improvement initiatives
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and projects concurrently
Ability to travel to provider offices within region (TX, AR, or OK) upon business discretion
This role is part of Humana's driver safety program and therefore requires an individual to have a valid state driver's license and are expected to maintain personal vehicle liability insurance. Individual must carry vehicle insurance in accordance with their residing state minimum required limits, or $25,000 bodily injury per person/$25,000 bodily injury per event /$10,000 for property damage or whichever is higher.
