We are now seeking a highly experienced and skilled Senior Manager to join our Tax Advisory and Planning function, to help drive the growth and success of our business.

About the Role

The Senior Manager - Strategic Tax Advisory, Planning, and Compliance will be responsible for providing expert tax advice and support to our business teams, to help unlock and advance new opportunities for growth and expansion. This will involve partnering with cross-functional teams, including product, engineering, legal, accounting, and finance, to provide daily and strategic input on tax matters, and to help minimize tax risks while advancing business goals. The successful candidate will have a strong track record of managing complex tax projects, providing tax advice on strategic initiatives, and implementing automated and scalable processes to support business growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Actively partner with DoorDash teams, including product, engineering, legal, accounting, and finance, on new products, initiatives, and expansions of existing products
• Provide daily and strategic input to minimize tax risks while advancing business goals and expansion
• Project manage new product, expansion, process improvement, and operational projects for the Tax team, including creating project plans, setting project timelines, and tracking deliverables and action items
• Operate at the lowest level of detail, diving into all things that directly or indirectly impact tax for DoorDash's products and initiatives, to ensure compliance and help unlock and grow the business
• Communicate with stakeholders at all levels on project plans, status, and important issues
• Design scalable playbooks that document the team's tax policies and procedures
• Provide tax advice within the Tax team on strategic tax planning initiatives, legislative developments, and other ad hoc matters
• Manage external advisors as necessary

Essential Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

• 8+ years of experience in tax, finance (including accounting), legal, project management, consulting, or related experience
• High-growth or early-stage startup experience is a plus
• Experience managing large consulting, advisory, or other project engagements preferred
• A proven track record of managing cross-functional projects with multiple dependencies in a fast-moving environment
• Demonstrated success in explaining complex tax issues in a clear and understandable manner
• A strong attention to detail and analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to motivate people at all levels across a variety of job responsibilities
• A strong moral compass and integrity

Compensation, Perks, and Benefits

At DoorDash, we offer a competitive compensation package, including a base salary range of $155,000 - $228,000 USD, depending on experience and location. We also offer a range of perks and benefits, including:
