The SRO Engineer in Nuclear Operations will support the development of operating procedures and validate scenarios for control room operators while working with cutting-edge nuclear technologies.
Responsibilities
- Acquire knowledge about integrated plant operations to develop the way control room operators run plants with operating procedures
- Validate scenarios in control room simulators before they are used to train reactor operators and implemented in plants worldwide
- Work with professionals in the industry to learn the technical and professional aspects of working in the nuclear industry
- Design new incore instrumentation and develop testing equipment, completing test preparation and reporting
- Support utility reactor operators by performing critical activities in their control rooms
- Travel to customer sites around the world to perform testing (2 to 4 times a year and 5 to 15 days per trip) or for short fieldwork assignments
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in engineering with a minimum GPA of 3.0
- Candidates with a Reactor Operator license at a university reactor are encouraged to apply
- US Citizen or permanent resident only
- Ability to obtain unescorted site access to customer sites which requires compliance with industry fitness-for-duty standards and participation in Westinghouse's behavioral observation program
