Provide expert cardiac care as an RN-Tele on a fast-paced progressive care unit, focusing on telemetric monitoring and advanced cardiac support. This 8-week contract offers 12-hour night shifts with a consistent 48-hour workweek, ensuring schedule stability for dedicated professionals.
Location Overview:
Situated in Virgie, KY, this role supports nearby medical services within a 75-mile radius. The area blends a welcoming small-town atmosphere with access to outdoor recreation, making it ideal for those who value a close-knit community and natural beauty.
Key Responsibilities:
• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in the Cardiac Progressive Care/Telemetry unit
• Interpret telemetry strips accurately and manage cardiac drips, including initiation and titration
• Provide care for post-catheterization patients (femoral and radial access), chest pain (CP), and myocardial infarction (MI) cases
• Utilize EPIC for precise and timely charting
• Float between Cardiac Progressive Care and Telemetry areas as needed, potentially assisting as a nursing aide
• Adhere to unit policies with a consistent 1:5 patient-nurse ratio
• Work every other weekend and holidays on a rotating basis
Qualifications and Experience:
• Valid KY or Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Current AHA BLS and ACLS certifications, plus NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Minimum of 2 years nursing experience, including Level I or II Trauma exposure
• Expertise in telemetry strip interpretation is mandatory
• Competent in caring for high-acuity cardiac patients and managing cardiac drips
• Experience using EPIC electronic health records
• Completion of EKG competency testing during compliance onboarding
• Vaccination Requirements: COVID vaccine unless medically or religiously exempt (weekly testing required if exempt), and Hepatitis B vaccine with no exemption allowed
