Key Responsibilities:
As a Consumer Access Specialist, your primary responsibilities will include:
- Patient Registration: Ensure that patients are accurately and efficiently registered for all service lines, and that all necessary documentation is completed.
- Eligibility Verification: Perform eligibility verification, obtain pre-certifications and/or authorizations, and ensure that patients meet the necessary requirements for services.
- Financial Arrangements: Make financial arrangements and request/receive payments for services, while maintaining a high level of customer service and professionalism.
- Clinical Partnerships: Develop and maintain close working relationships with clinical partners to ensure seamless communication and coordination of care.
- PBX Coverage: Provide PBX (switchboard) coverage and support as needed, ensuring that patients and customers receive prompt and courteous service.

To be successful as a Consumer Access Specialist, you will need:
Essential Qualifications:
- Education: High school graduate or equivalent required.
- Experience: One year of relevant healthcare experience and one year of customer service experience.
- Collections Experience: Prior collections experience is required.
- Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with patients, customers, and clinical partners.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Healthcare Experience: Experience in a healthcare-related service role is preferred.
- Medical Terminology: Proficiency in medical terminology is preferred.
