The Role: Educational Content Developer
As an Educational Content Developer, you will be responsible for creating engaging and informative content that supports our mission and objectives. Your tasks will include:
- Developing e-books, training manuals, and courses on topics such as environmental sustainability, native plants, permaculture, and foraging
- Creating pamphlets and informational materials that highlight our initiatives and programs
- Designing and organizing workshops and educational sessions for diverse audiences, including volunteers, ambassadors, sponsors, and donors
- Collaborating with our team to ensure content aligns with our mission and is accessible to a broad audience
Key Responsibilities
Content Creation
As an Educational Content Developer, you will be responsible for creating high-quality content that supports our mission and objectives. This includes:
- Researching and developing content on topics related to environmental sustainability
- Creating engaging and informative materials, such as e-books, training manuals, and courses
- Designing and organizing workshops and educational sessions
Collaboration and Communication
Effective collaboration and communication are essential to success in this role. You will:
- Collaborate with our team to ensure content aligns with our mission and is accessible to a broad audience
- Communicate with volunteers, ambassadors, sponsors, and donors through various channels
- Respond to emails and messages within 24 hours
Qualifications and Experience
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A strong background in environmental science, education, or a related field
- Skilled in content creation and digital publishing (e.g., Canva, Adobe InDesign, or similar tools)
- Knowledgeable in topics like sustainability, ecology, and conservation
- Self-motivated, organized, and enjoys making complex topics accessible to a wide audience
- Flexible hours, approximately 5-10 hours per month
Preferred Qualifications
We prefer candidates with:
- Experience in creating educational materials for diverse audiences
- Knowledge of our tech stack and management tools/software (i.e., Monday PMS, Clockify, Slack, etc.)
- Excellent verbal communication and active listening skills
