Job Overview
As a part-time Algebra Tutor with Tutoring of Nashville, you'll have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of high school students. We're looking for tutors with a strong foundation in Math and Science, particularly in subjects like Algebra 1 & 2, Calculus, Geometry, Trigonometry, Biology, Chemistry, and Physics.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality, one-on-one tutoring sessions to students in Algebra and other Math and Science subjects
- Prepare and submit session reports to our office and families within 24 hours of each tutoring session
- Effectively balance tutoring hours for each assigned student and manage your schedule
- Tailor your teaching approach to meet the individual needs and learning styles of each student
- Address client concerns, questions, and requests in a professional and timely manner
- Follow up with our office when a student's enrollment package is low on hours
- Maintain accurate records and perform basic data entry tasks as required
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you'll need:
- A minimum of 2 years of experience in the education field, preferably in tutoring or teaching
- A strong understanding of Algebra and other high school level Math and Science subjects
- Credentialed tutors and/or graduate degrees are a plus, but not a requirement
- Experience with basic database/data entry and strong administrative skills
- The ability to prepare lesson plans and adapt to different learning styles
- A personality that is well-suited for working with diverse students and families
- Reliable transportation with current car insurance and access to a computer, internet, and smartphone
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced degrees or specialized certifications in Math or Science
- Experience working with students of varying skill levels and learning abilities
- Strong typing, PC, and recording skills
- Familiarity with our tutoring software and systems (training provided)
