About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Sayreville, NJ. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction to students in the absence of the regular teacher, following the lesson plans and curriculum provided
- Create a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting student engagement and participation
- Develop and maintain effective relationships with students, teachers, and school staff, ensuring a seamless transition and continuity of learning
- Utilize a range of teaching strategies and techniques to cater to diverse learning styles and needs
- Manage classroom behavior, maintaining a safe and respectful environment for all students
- Communicate effectively with parents and guardians, keeping them informed of student progress and any issues that may arise
- Collaborate with other educators to develop and implement innovative teaching methods and strategies
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need:
- An Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, with at least one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
- Special education training or experience
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
