About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Keasbey, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on teaching experience on your own schedule, working with students of various ages and backgrounds. Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects, including but not limited to math, science, English, history, and social studies, to students of different ages and skill levels
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, adapting to the needs and abilities of your students
- Manage classroom behavior, maintaining a safe and respectful learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and school staff, providing regular updates on student progress and any concerns that may arise
- Collaborate with other teachers and school staff to ensure a cohesive and supportive learning environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities, such as training sessions and workshops, to enhance your teaching skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including at least one from a previous direct supervisor
- NJ Substitute Credential
- Background check and TB risk assessment (Scoot Education will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first

Preferred Qualifications
- Previous teaching or substitute teaching experience
- Special education training or experience
- Bilingual or multilingual skills
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
