Key Responsibilities
As a Theater Arts Teacher at Arlington High School, your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Teaching a range of courses, including Introduction to Drama, Theater Production, and Actors Studio
- Developing and implementing engaging lesson plans that foster ensemble building, foundational performance skills, and advanced acting techniques
- Directing and producing full-length plays, one-act plays, and 10-minute play festivals, including rehearsals and performances
- Mentoring students in scenery, costumes, lighting, sound, and stage management
- Collaborating with colleagues to integrate theater arts into the broader curriculum and school community
- Participating in after-school rehearsals and evening performances, as required
Essential Qualifications
To be considered for this exciting opportunity, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- A strong background in theater arts, with a degree in a relevant field (e.g., theater, drama, performance studies)
- New York State certification in Theater or a related field (or eligibility for certification)
- Proven experience in teaching theater arts, preferably at the high school level
