Job Summary
As a Proposal Writer - RFP Specialist, you will play a critical role in developing compliant, compelling technical proposal content that showcases our value proposition and meets the needs of our customers. You will work closely with our Capture Lead, Proposal Manager, Account Team, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), Solution Architects (SAs), and other authors to craft winning proposals that drive business growth. Key Responsibilities
- Lead the development of compliant, compelling technical proposal content that clearly and concisely executes on the strategic response plan, with an emphasis on customer insight through research.
- Collaborate with the Capture Lead, Proposal Manager, Account Team, SMEs, SAs, and other authors to develop proposal content that meets customer needs.
- Facilitate meetings with SMEs/SAs to capture solution information for development of compliant proposal sections and take ownership of crafting the Technical Approach.
- Conduct interviews with SMEs/SAs to translate technical solution ideas into easily understood terms in the written response.
- Manage content development to meet color review expectations and execute quality control functions for compliance with RFx and proposal design standards.
- Work actively with the Proposal Manager to plan for and build several repositories of re-usable content and other artifacts which will maximize the efficiency of proposal content development and increase the internal knowledge base.
Requirements and Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering with excellent English language skills.
- 3-5 years of experience in proposal or technical writing for US government proposals.
- Strong working knowledge of word processing software and MS Excel.
- Experience creating/editing compelling graphics using Microsoft PowerPoint.
- Excellent organizational skills, as well as attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to meet deadlines.
- Good strategic planning abilities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Shipley or equivalent training or certification.
- Experience working with US Federal clients.
- Technical/IT background or understanding.
