They are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Underwriting Assistant to support their Property & Casualty insurance underwriting team, assisting underwriters with policy processing, risk assessment support, and client service.
Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and technical support to underwriters in the review and processing of insurance applications
- Prepare, review, and issue policy documents, endorsements, renewals, and cancellations
- Perform preliminary risk assessments and identify missing or incomplete information
- Enter and maintain accurate data in underwriting and policy management systems
- Communicate with brokers, agents, and clients to obtain additional information or resolve discrepancies
- Assist in monitoring policy renewals, deadlines, and compliance requirements
- Prepare underwriting files, correspondence, and reports as needed
- Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely policy issuance
- Provide excellent customer service by responding to inquiries in a professional and timely manner
Skills
- Excellent organizational skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining accuracy and professionalism
- Excellent computer skills (emailing, computer rating)
- Provide research and analytical skills to identify, gather and organize information to provide recommendations
- Proficiency in Microsoft office applications (particularly, excel, word, and outlook) in PC-windows operating system
- Ability to learn new software applications
- Proven ability to work with goals
- Demonstrated effective communication skills
- Multi-lingual in spoken Chinese (mandarin or cantonese)
- U.S. BACHELOR DEGREE MINIMUM
