Intake and Scheduling Coordinator: A Critical Role in Our Mission
We're seeking an experienced Intake and Scheduling Coordinator to join our remote team. As a key member of our intake department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring seamless patient care and facilitating connections between patients and our providers. Key Responsibilities
- Manage inbound and outbound communications via phone, email, voicemail, faxes, and chat to coordinate patient care
- Conduct thorough intake assessments to match patients with the most suitable providers
- Schedule initial appointments accurately and efficiently, ensuring patients receive timely care
- Collect and verify patient demographic information, insurance details, and clinical history
- Assist patients with portal setup, new patient paperwork, and other administrative tasks
- Ensure accurate documentation of patient interactions and transactions in our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
- Proactively contact referral sources, patients, and provider offices to obtain necessary information
- Handle incoming emergency calls professionally and follow crisis call protocols
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned by management to support the intake department
Essential Qualifications and Skills
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- A high school diploma or equivalent; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 2+ years of experience in a contact center or healthcare environment
- Strong computer proficiency with knowledge of Microsoft Office, Internet, and Email
- Prior experience working with Electronic Health Record systems (EHRs) is preferred
- Clear understanding of insurance-related terminology
- Fluent English language skills; professional working proficiency in Spanish may be required
- A quiet, distraction-free, and HIPAA-compliant workspace with high-speed hard-wired internet access
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize work in a fast-paced environment
- Legal authorization to work in the United States
