Job Overview
As a Non-QM Scenario Desk Underwriter, you will play a critical role in providing customer support to our TPO, NDC, and Retail Loan Officers, Account Executives, and Brokers. Your primary responsibilities will include responding to inquiries, analyzing loan scenarios, and ensuring timely and accurate communication with our stakeholders. You will be an integral part of our Production Support team, working closely with sales partners, operations staff, and other departments to deliver exceptional results.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide email, online, and phone support to address Non-QM program guidelines, requirements, and loan scenarios, ensuring timely and accurate responses to inquiries
- Complete Bank Statement Analysis requests from sales partners within designated turn times, communicating results clearly and concisely to all stakeholders
- Coordinate the delivery and completion of Bank Statement Analyses when leveraging Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) partners
- Perform Quality Control testing on Bank Statement Analysis work completed by BPO partners to ensure accuracy and quality
- Utilize solid underwriting knowledge to document and clear loan conditions, analyzing complex personal and business tax returns to calculate qualifying monthly income
- Assist sales partners in structuring difficult loan scenarios, providing expert guidance and support
- Maintain proficiency in using TPO and NDC Portal to assist production partners with submitting requests, uploading documents, and accessing relevant information
- Collaborate with the Mortgage Sales Team and Operations staff on a daily basis, ensuring seamless communication and effective issue resolution
- Review Condominium Projects to determine eligibility with program requirements, applying knowledge of regulatory requirements and loan programs
- Perform other related duties as assigned, contributing to the overall success of the Production Support team
Essential Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you will need to possess the following essential qualifications:
- Mortgage Wholesale/Non-QM Underwriting experience is highly recommended, with a minimum of 5 years of underwriting experience (UW or secondary)
- High School Diploma or Equivalent is required, with Encompass Software experience being a must
- Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information clearly and concisely
- Excellent customer service skills, with a focus on providing timely and accurate support to stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex loan scenarios and provide effective solutions
- Proficiency in using computer software, including Encompass, with strong keyboard skills and computer literacy
Preferred Qualifications
