Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality instruction and support to students in various educational settings, including elementary, middle, and high schools.
- Develop and maintain a positive, inclusive, and trauma-informed classroom environment that promotes student engagement and learning.
- Follow lesson plans and instructional materials provided by the classroom teacher to ensure continuity and consistency.
- Build strong relationships with students, teachers, and school staff to create a collaborative and supportive educational community.
- Participate in 1:1 check-ins with your designated Scoot consultant to discuss school feedback, develop your skills, and address any concerns or questions.
- Take advantage of our free, online training programs to enhance your teaching skills and stay updated on best practices in education.
Essential Qualifications
- Associate or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits.
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor.
- NJ Substitute Credential.
- Background check and TB risk assessment (we'll cover the cost of this).
- Full COVID-19 vaccination.
- A passion for education and putting students first.
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience as a substitute teacher or in a related educational role.
- Special education experience or certification.
- Subject-specific expertise in areas such as Math, Science, English, or Special Education.
