We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Full-Time Assistant Head Custodian (Night) to join our team at Hackensack Public Schools. As a key member of our facilities management team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety, cleanliness, and comfort of our school environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Assist the Head Custodian in overseeing custodial operations and maintaining a high standard of safety, cleanliness, and efficiency
- Help select, assign, schedule, and train custodial staff members
- Plan and oversee maintenance and repair work, ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory standards
- Monitor time records, certify salary payments, and maintain inventory of supplies and equipment
- Evaluate custodial staff performance, promote safety and health, and perform related duties as required
- Use computers and electronic equipment to fulfill job functions and maintain confidentiality of records and information
Requirements:
- Black Seal License (High Pressure) and commercial air conditioning experience required
- High school diploma or equivalent, with supervisory ability and minimum 3 years of experience in plant operation and maintenance
- Demonstrated knowledge of fire/safety laws, valid driver's license, and good moral character
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with students, staff, and community members
