While the position is fully remote, you will collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams across strategy, product, engineering, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Model Development & Optimization: Design, build, and maintain predictive and prescriptive models that improve claim processing speed, reduce operational costs, and enhance fraud detection.
- Data Engineering & Pipeline Creation: Construct robust data ingestion, cleaning, and transformation pipelines using modern data‑engineering tools to ensure high‑quality, reliable data for analysis.
- Advanced Analytics & Research: Conduct exploratory data analysis (EDA) on structured and unstructured data sources (claims, member interactions, sensor data, etc.) to uncover hidden patterns and business opportunities.
- Insight Communication: Translate complex statistical findings into clear, actionable recommendations for senior leadership and non‑technical stakeholders.
- Automation Strategy: Identify repetitive manual processes within the claims lifecycle and develop automated solutions using R, Python, or SQL‑based workflows.
- Data Governance & Quality Assurance: Define data quality metrics, perform regular data validation checks, and champion best practices for data stewardship.
- Collaboration & Mentorship: Partner with product managers, engineers, and domain experts to align analytics initiatives with business objectives; mentor junior analysts on analytical techniques and coding standards.
- Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay abreast of emerging technologies (e.g., machine learning Ops, cloud‑native analytics) and recommend pilot projects that could accelerate arenaxflex’s strategic agenda.
Essential Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Experience: Minimum 2 years of hands‑on data science experience in a fast‑paced environment, preferably within health‑care, insurance, or finance.
- Programming Proficiency: Strong command of Python (pandas, scikit‑learn, PyTorch/TensorFlow) or R (tidyverse, caret, forecast) for statistical modeling and data manipulation.
- Database Skills: Advanced SQL capabilities, including complex joins, window functions, and performance tuning.
- Statistical Expertise: Deep understanding of regression, classification, time‑series analysis, clustering, and experimental design.
- Data Visualization: Ability to create compelling dashboards using tools such as Tableau, Power BI, or Plotly.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a talent for storytelling using data.
Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Haves

- Prior involvement in building end‑to‑end machine‑learning pipelines (MLOps) for production deployment.
- Exposure to natural language processing (NLP) for unstructured text analysis.
- Professional certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Data Analytics, Google Cloud Professional Data Engineer).
Core Skills & Competencies for Success
- Analytical Mindset: A relentless curiosity to question data, dig deeper, and identify root causes.
- Problem‑Solving: Ability to translate ambiguous business problems into clear analytical frameworks.
- Collaboration: Comfortable working in cross‑functional, remote teams, leveraging digital collaboration tools (Slack, Teams, Confluence).
