Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct instruction to adults learning English as a Second Language in level 4 online class, using communicative and cooperative teaching strategies to promote student engagement and learning
• Develop and implement lesson plans, conduct ongoing assessments, and monitor student attendance to ensure students are meeting their academic goals
• Collaborate with other staff members, including teachers, administrators, and support staff, to create a cohesive and supportive learning environment
• Attend staff meetings, participate in professional development opportunities, and stay current with best practices in ESL instruction and curriculum development
• Keep accurate and detailed student records, including progress reports, attendance records, and assessment results
• Support volunteers and provide guidance and supervision as needed
• Integrate technology into instruction, using digital tools and resources to enhance student learning and engagement
• Implement the CCRS/ACES/NorthStar standards, ensuring that instruction is aligned with state and national standards for adult education

Essential Qualifications

• Current MN Teaching License, or ABE License, or Master's degree in ESL, applied linguistics, or bilingual education
• Strong communication and organizational skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with students, staff, and community members
• Ability to be flexible and function well in a busy environment, with a strong sense of adaptability and resilience
• Ability to work as a team member, collaborating with colleagues to achieve common goals and promote a positive and inclusive school culture
• Computer skills required, with experience using digital tools and resources to support instruction and student learning
• Must be physically working in the building/onsite, with a strong commitment to being present and engaged in the learning environment
