About the Role
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Substitute Teacher to join our team in Pompton Plains, NJ. As a Substitute Teacher with Scoot Education, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of students and educators alike. Key Responsibilities
- Teach a variety of subjects and grade levels, including elementary, middle, and high school
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans, adapting to the needs of each classroom
- Manage classroom behavior, creating a positive and inclusive learning environment
- Communicate effectively with students, teachers, and school administrators
- Be flexible and adaptable, responding to the changing needs of each assignment
- Participate in professional development opportunities, enhancing your skills and knowledge
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- An Associate's or Bachelor's degree, or 60+ college credits
- Three professional references, including one from a previous direct supervisor
- A NJ Substitute Credential
- A background check and TB risk assessment (we will cover the cost of this)
- Full COVID-19 vaccination
- A passion for education and a commitment to putting students first
- An empathetic nature, a growth mindset, and a drive to be the best you can be
Preferred Qualifications
While not essential, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Knowledge of trauma-informed teaching practices and classroom management strategies
- Familiarity with special education and IEPs
- Experience working in a team environment, collaborating with colleagues and school administrators

Compensation and Benefits
We offer a competitive salary, with pay rates of up to $190 for day-to-day assignments and more for long-term assignments. Additionally, you will receive:
