Key Responsibilities
- Teach students in grades K-12 using Mathnasium's customized learning plans, which are tailored to their individual needs and abilities.
- Assist students with homework completion and provide additional support as needed.
- Deliver instruction in a clear, concise, and engaging manner, using a variety of teaching strategies and techniques.
- Monitor student progress and adjust instruction accordingly, providing feedback and encouragement to help students stay motivated and focused.
- Participate in ongoing training and professional development to stay up-to-date on best practices in math education and Mathnasium's curriculum and teaching methods.
- Work collaboratively with other instructors and center staff to create a positive and supportive learning environment.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful as a Mathnasium Instructor, you will need:
- Strong math proficiency up to Algebra (proficiency through Geometry and Calculus is preferred).
- An exceptional score on Mathnasium's Math Literacy exam (covering material from 2nd grade and up).
- Availability to work at least 2 weekday shifts (afternoons after 3pm).
- A clear record on a state and national background check.
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are highly desirable:
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring math, particularly in a setting similar to Mathnasium.
- A degree in mathematics, education, or a related field.
- Experience working with students in grades K-12.
