Role Overview

Key Responsibilities
- Lead a team of engineers in the development, testing, and deployment of software products
- Identify and resolve defects in the development cycle, ensuring high-quality software products
- Define requirements for new features and construct product guides
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to recommend changes to APIs and system designs
- Develop and implement process and technology improvement projects
- Monitor and track the resolution of defects, working closely with engineers to prevent, report, and resolve issues
- Apply software development methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, and automated testing to ensure seamless execution
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Systems, or a related STEM field
- At least 4 years of progressive experience in building development plans, executing quality assurance, and testing for engineering teams
- Minimum 2 years of experience in each of the following areas:
- Accounts Receivable (AR) in the financial business space
- Software project management
- Integrated agile application development environment
- Applying software development methodologies, continuous integration and delivery, and automated testing
- Writing tests and resolving defects
- Designing and running functional, automated, system, and performance tests
- API testing, COBOL, Control-M, DB2, IBM Optim with LUA scripting, JCL, Mainframe CI/CD, MQ, Test Data Management (TDM), Syncsort, Stored Procedures, SQL, Test Automation, and VSAM
Preferred Qualifications
While not required, the following qualifications are preferred:
- Experience working in a remote or distributed team environment
- Familiarity with American Express's technology stack and systems
- Knowledge of industry trends and emerging technologies in software development and quality assurance
