Key Responsibilities
- Facility Maintenance:
- Maintain the overall cleanliness of the store, including vacuuming, sweeping, cleaning glass, collecting trash, and spot cleaning carpets as needed.
- Replace store and maintenance supplies, restock bags at wrap stands, and replace interior and exterior lights when necessary.
- Ensure the associate lounge is clean and well-maintained.
- Customer Service:
- Provide exceptional customer service as needed, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
- Assist in correcting situations that could be hazardous to customers and associates, such as spills, broken glass, or icy sidewalks.
- Merchandise Processing:
- Unpack merchandise correctly in accordance with store policies and goals, achieving a rate of 27 cph.
- Attach sensor tags to merchandise at the designated price point and in areas that won't damage the products.
- Deliver merchandise to the appropriate departments and return carts to the docks.
- Perform hanger pickups from each register stand and ensure all merchandise is placed on the sales floor by store opening.
- General Policies and Procedures:
- Report all suspected theft and unusual activities according to store security guidelines.
- Observe security and safety regulations by keeping traffic aisles clear and adhering to all policy and procedure manuals.
- Attend all scheduled store meetings and training sessions.
- Maintain a neat and professional appearance in compliance with the current dress code.
- Be flexible and willing to work in other areas or complete assigned duties as requested by your supervisor.
- Assist in the initial training of new associates when requested and assigned by your supervisor.
Essential and Preferred Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you'll need:
- A High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- The ability to read and speak English fluently.
- Previous experience in a retail or maintenance environment (preferred but not required).
Physical Requirements and Skills
This role demands a certain level of physical fitness and specific skills, including:
- The ability to lift between 10 lbs and 72 lbs at floor level and above shoulder height.
- The capacity to push or pull carts weighing between 100 lbs and 500 lbs to the sales floor.
- The ability to climb ladders and work at heights.
- Proficiency in operating a computer and working unsupervised.
- The ability to stand for long periods.
